CONSULTING

  • Develop comprehensive web communication, marketing, and social media strategies to be implemented by client and/or Orangejack
  • Create and publish reports on various web tools and marketing case studies. For a particular client, project management was more efficient, they won clients based on provided research, and turned over successful marketing campaigns to satisfied clients
  • On-site and/or distance consulting including team meetings, conference calls, individual conversations, and Web communications
  • Consult on website/blog design and usability with client and outsourced host and designer

MARKETING

  • Research and monitor relevant audiences
  • Develop marketing strategy to advertise new blog including RSS feeds, email newsletters, and other marketing tactics
  • Utilize Internet marketing disciplines to increase traffic and high search engine visibility for targeted keywords through Search Engine Optimization and Pay-Per-Click campaigns. For a particular client, targeted key phrases achieved organic ranking on page one of Google for targeted keywords within one week
  • Provide keyword research and ad creative copy for Adwords PPC campaign

IMPLEMENTING

  • Adapt content management systems for web publishing (WordPress, Typepad, Blogger, Wiki)
  • Merge existing Web sites into WordPress and develop sites to be interactive
  • Implement strategy through creation of social media profiles and engage targeted communities through blogs, message boards, and social media platforms. For a particular client, 10% of approximately 1500 connections to social media persona shared content provided by persona and/or recommended persona to others

TRAINING

  • Train groups through workshops, conference presentations, personal meetings, and publications such as blogs, eBooks, articles, and audio interviews.
  • Train clients in aspects of managing their Web properties and ensure they are happy with design and function of sites

Although I’m still freelance Internet consulting through Orangejack LLC, I’m also looking for full-time work as an Internet Strategist or Social Media Strategist. That’s why I keep my resume and LinkedIn profile updated accordingly.

I’m open to relocation if the right position comes along, particularly in the regions around these airports: MCO, ATL, GSP, CLT, RDU, and IAD. Those are the top of my list because our family lives near these areas (GSP & DC). However, other locations will be considered! :-)

I am utilizing over seven years of professional experience in online marketing, Internet strategy, and social media implementation. I have a strong understanding of emerging media marketing techniques and social media.  I know how to use these tools to stay ahead of the curve and accomplish organizational goals effectively, and I have extensive experience in training others around the world to use these skills.

I am deliberate in my choices. I’d rather work on a project that is already good and take it to great. I don’t prefer to take a project from bad to mediocre. For me to improve a situation, I sort through potential solutions to find the best solution. I’m always asking the “What happens if…” question (to myself and of others) helping me to anticipate potential outcomes and be able to break the situation down into a simplified explanation. Once I’ve made a decision I want to see it to completion because I’m driven by being helpful and dependable. I know my strengths and want to work with others who know theirs. We all fit together in the overall picture and I work best when we’re all doing our part.

Though I’ve been involved in online communities since 1995 (the AOL days), since 1999 I have worked in one field: the Internet. The niche I covered within this field has changed every few years. I started as a web designer, then moved into the fields of web marketing, internet strategy, and application of new generation web applications (Web 2.0) of the social web to overall communication strategies.

I like to be involved in projects where I can plan, lead, participate, cast vision and make a solid difference while not being limited to being a consultant. My desire is to not just be a “web guy”. I’m not a techie. I approach strategy and communications from the angle of understanding the audience and adapting our communications to them in whatever formats and frequency is appropriate (however I have a strong understanding and experience of marketing and using the web).
